Adam’s bridge is a physical location present between India and Srilanka. This nearly connects these two countries. According to Ramayana, a famous epic of India, it is said that the bridge has been constructed by Rama.

This creates a shallow area in the ocean. Due to this ships traveling from the East coast of India to the west coast and vice versa has to travel round Srilanka to reach the other side. The Indian government has started the task of removing this obstacle which thereby eases the transportation. Many political parties and common people were against this as they feel that this is a sign of history and notion of Rama.
